The Summer Cottage

THE SUMMER COTTAGE

The summer cottage is one of 2 cottages on the same property about 80 feet apart. It has 2 spacious bedrooms that accommodates up-to 8 guests with 2 full bathrooms.
The screened-in porch across the front of the cottage provides a comfortable vantage point to view the beauty of the lake. The outdoor space includes a private playground for your exclusive use as well as your very own BBQ on deck with one full tank of propane (refills available at a charge), picnic benches, outdoor seating complete with a fire pit for roasting marshmallows.

This summer house cottage provides an idyllic stop over for boaters traveling through the Rideau Canal, a family vacation on an annual fishing trip or a couple looking for a romantic outdoor getaway and a dock for lake swimming. It is a great way to relax and soak up the sun.

 

The space
Gorgeous sunsets at dusk just from this cottage deck is something extraordinary. The quiet and relaxing atmosphere is something everyone should experience. There is a little bit of everything for everyone. Breath taking view and to relax outdoors overlooking the Upper Rideau lake is absolutely something everyone will enjoy. Access to the dock is about a 3 min walk down the stair way.
 

Guest access
The entire summer cottage is yours to use. A fire pit and picnic bench on your area of the cottage as well as a private play area for kids with a swing and slide is for your use.
You have access to the lake using the common boardwalk going down to the dock area. Boardwalk and access to the dock for swimming on the lake or boat docking will be shared spaces for all guests on property.
All guests must park in the designated guest parking

  1. Bed linen provided ( sheets and pillow cases).

  2.  We recommend to bring extra bed linen, pillows and blankets, towels etc. if required for your own comfort.

  3. ***please note that towels are not provided. Please bring your own, if you forget something it is available upon request (Extra charges apply).***

If fishing is something you enjoy, we offer guided fishing tours upon request. Please inquire for availability and pricing.
Don’t forget your fishing Rods as there’s plenty of fish in the lake off the dock on property. (Live bait recommended)

If you enjoy spending time on the lake, a canoe, paddle board and kayak are available for your use (subject to availability).

Private Site seeing Boat Tours

Enjoy a Tour on the lake, includes a stop at the town marina of Westport ( subject to safe weather conditions, schedule/ inquire your tour with host along with price).

House rules

  • Check-in: 4:00 pm - 9:00 pm

  • Checkout: 10:00 a.m.

  • Self check-in with key pad code

  • No smoking

  • No pets. we are a PET FREE rental

  • No loud music (quiet time from 10pm - 7am)

  • No parties or events

Additional rules

Please no outside shoes inside cottage. All garbage and recycling items to be Separated; plastics, cans and glass bottles in one blue recycling bag. Fiber, cardboard, boxes in a separate blue recycling bag. All compost and other garbage items in clear bags only. No Black garbage bags allowed based on the Rideau township recycling and garbage standards. No smoking inside the cottage please. The cottage to be kept the same when checked in. There are 2 cottages on property about 80 feet away from each other. keep in mind other guests will be on property and some noise can be expected, however quiet times have been implemented from 10pm-7am.
